contagious orgasm has not only been a stronghold of post-industrial music for over three decades now, they also performed repeatedly at maschinenfest. after the idm-heavy 2008 set and the impossible-to-file 2018 performance for the festival finale, this is the third recording made available in the raubkauf series and an unexpected peak into the adventurous history of this exceptional act.

in 2001 contagious orgasm had just begun its transition from a freeform and noisy sound to more structured compositions, so this live performance worked in a continuous flow: swirling sounds, intoxicating psychedelia and crude samples, found rhythms, concrete sounds and noisy outbursts, this is music that demands active involvement but promises great reward to the listener, a mesmerizing and hypnotic effect one can’t withdraw from after a while. history as entertainment!
